The European Meeting of Taizé.

Have you ever heard about The Taizé Community? I got to know about this group during my first year of studies in 2015 when I decided to spend my New Year's Eve in Valencia in Spain.

The Taizé Community is an ecumenical Christian monastic fraternity in Taizé in France. It is composed of more than one hundred brothers both Catholics and Protestants from all over the world. Over the years, the little French village has become one of the most important place of the pilgrimages, especially between the youth, who come there for prayer, Bible study, sharing, and communal work.

Unfortunately I have never been in the village yet, but I participated in the event organized by the community each year, which always takes place on the New Year's Eve. In 2015 the event took place in my beloved Spain, that is to say, in Valencia!

We started our journey visiting Lyon in France.

And then... we moved to Valencia! We stayed at home of one Spanish family which was amazing with us - always giving us some delicious Spanish food, talking about life and practicing our Spanish. I couldn't imagine better place to stay.

In the afternoons we had prayer time with the people from all over the world, with the candles and the songs of Taize. The atmosphere and the spirit was really magic, we all could feel in the unity of one church, no matter if someone was protestant or catholic. Wonderful experience.
